It is great to announce (properly) that Many Cats is working on it's first games project, currently titled Commute.
We are thrilled to be included in this year's cohort of Tentacle Zone to help us start development. We along with other cohorts of small and solo teams will learn and grow from industry experts on how to deliver our project, Commute. One of our goals is develop a prototype to seek further investment and funding.
Commute is exploring the experience of deaf and Hard of Hearing people on public transport through narrative and puzzles to overcome the frustrations of an inaccessible
society. The distinct visual and colour use, complimented by a minimal soundscape will help the player empathise with a disadvantaged group that is rarely at the front of interactive media.
We are creating this game as disability representation is under-utilized in gaming. As a deaf developer, it is important to get this right for other disabled gamers. We are keen to apply our accessibility learnings we have gained from the amazing community in this project.
Commute is in early development but we will update you all as soon as we can.
